The All India Fair Price Shop Dealers Federation is contemplating suspending the ration service starting from December, as stated by the organization's National General Secretary, Bishwambhar Basu. This drastic measure is being considered due to a series of demands made by the federation that, if unaddressed, could result in the disruption of essential services.
The federation has presented two primary demands that they believe are vital to their livelihood and the effective operation of ration shops. Firstly, they are requesting an increase in the commission rates to ensure a minimum monthly income of fifty thousand rupees for shop dealers. Secondly, they are seeking the refund of commission money and the reimbursement of funds spent on goods purchased from the company. Additionally, they are demanding reconciliation of mistakenly stocked items and ensuring that ration goods are delivered in the correct weight.
Failure to address these concerns may force the federation to withdraw from the ration service beginning in December 2019. The federation views this action as an attempt to uphold the constitutional rights of individuals to have a say in their choice regarding ration services.
